Does God Always Want To Heal Us?
Is it truly God's will that we should be healed physically of every infirmity?
John 9:1-3
1And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth. 2And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind? 3Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
II Corinthians 12:7
7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong
It's funny how people always want to bring up Paul's thorn as an illness. Maybe you should look at what he is actually saying: "...a messenger of Satan..." Also, look up the other places where the Bible references trouble and a "thorn". You'll find it it speaks of a person or persons being thorns. Look up Psalm 103:3. Why would th Bible say "...all your diseases..."? What about James 5:15? It doesn't say, "Might make the sick person well." "The prayer offered in faith WILL make the sick person well." As far as your first reference (John 9), praise God he was healed!
